Schedule — Tuesday, February 17

The back nine of the Games. With five days left, the schedule tightens and every session feels urgent. Cross-country skiing adds another distance race, and freestyle skiing ski cross — one of the wildest events in the Olympics, with four skiers racing head-to-head down a course full of jumps and rollers — should deliver chaos in Livigno.

Bobsled four-person competition begins its first heats at the Cortina Sliding Centre. Speed skating is into the shorter distances at Piné, and biathlon continues to stack medals at Anterselva. Nordic combined individual competition wraps up around this point at Predazzo.

Ice hockey semifinals are approaching, and the stakes are enormous. The medal count is getting tighter at the top. This is the stretch where the Games start to feel like they’re flying by.
